Twisha and Thomas are the co-founders of Studio Synthesis. Their mutual love for design, disdain for all things mediocre and their drive to look for innovative solutions was what drove them into starting their own practice.

TWISHA SHAH-BRANDENBURG

Twisha was destined to be a designer. As a child she was already following Bahaus principles. She only used red, yellow and blue while she made her drawings and EVERYTHING had to be either a circle, square or triangle.

Realizing that she was a bit odd she decided to move away from home, get some perspective so she came to the School of The Art Institute of Chicago to get a degree in in Visual Communications from. Low and behold she met a whole clan of people just like her and has slowly come to accept her fate. She now lives in Chicago and Mumbai and practices design.

She has completed a Certificate Program in Museum Studies from NorthWestern University and like Thomas has recently completed a semester learning multi-media at the Compufield Institute, Mumbai, India.

When Twisha is not designing she is illustrating (elephant-a-day) or watching films at the Gene Siskel.
